Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Beach
A helicopter soaring above a well-attended coastal beach suddenly started spinning out of control, finally descending rapidly and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as spectators watched.
Footage posted on the internet capture the chopper starting to spin near the beach then falling in the direction of the edge of the shore, where it becomes wedged between palms and a steps adjacent to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters stated five persons were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Information on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
