The First Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Xbox fan sites began covering about PlayStation for the first time. 2025 was complete chaos for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft remains determined to draw people in with strong games on its flagship service.

The Immediate Additions

A pair of titles you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.

Major Titles on the Horizon

Starting January 13th, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that deviates from typical Ubisoft design with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of terror and combat."

Intriguing Niche Additions

However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Well-Rounded Collection

In summary, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription alone. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they were due initially — transforming them into perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
