Unveiling an Unusual Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Piece of Feces on a Quest to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have encountered plenty of engaging indie games. However, one stands out for its unconventional concept. Titled Unko Technica, this retro-inspired platformer features a hero that is literally a dung trying to navigate to a restroom. In case you're wondering, "Unko" means "poop."

Player controls is easy to grasp: just use a one button to leap. Throughout numerous stages, encounter mini-bosses and visit a market to buy skins for your fecal avatar.

Execute your actions precisely, as a wrong move forces restarting the level. Leap off air pockets to propel the poop to new heights, cross disappearing platforms, and touch switches to unlock new areas. Earn currency and use them on more difficult game content where things ramps up.

Graphically, the game boasts vibrant environments and an amazing music score. Its minimalist visual style of shifting geometric shapes could recall players of classic titles like Earthbound.

While it's tough to name previous releases where you are a piece of feces, video games have long incorporated toilet humor. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can craft throwables from protagonist excrement. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ dung as fertilizer. And of course, such content appears extensively in the adventure The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its silly idea, Unko Technica has already earned significant awards, such as taking top honors at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. The demo is accessible now on Steam, with the complete version set to debut on Steam this November.
